As you may remember readers, Captain Kidd's ship was discovered off the Carolina Coast in early December, the ships identity has been confirmed. It has been proven now that Captain Kidd was telling the truth about the specific crime he was hanged for.
So, in this particular case Captain Kidd was innocent. Sure, he did lots of other things that he could have been hung for and that you or I might consider horrible, but this one thing, he was innocent.
